Mark Johnson

Mark Johnson serves as Chief Financial Officer at Medicus Insurance Company. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial activities, which include financial planning and record keeping, as well as information technology systems expansion.

With a strong actuarial and reinsurance background, he brings more than 17 years of leadership experience to Medicus. He has in-depth knowledge and extensive skills in all aspects of accounting, audit handling, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, portfolio administration and treasury management.

Before joining Medicus, Mr. Johnson served as interim CFO and Director of Business Analysis for New Mexico Mutual, the leading New Mexico workers’ compensation insurer. There, his responsibilities included financial analysis and planning, information technology development and ratings agency relations. Over the course of his career at New Mexico Mutual, the company became profitable and earned an A-rating from A.M. Best.

Prior to his time at New Mexico Mutual, he also served as President of Eclipse Financial Resources, an insurance consulting firm. He began his insurance career as an accountant for Republic Western Insurance Company.

Mr. Johnson is a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in accounting.
